Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC)
The heart of Viceroy's high-conversion capability. The FCC unit utilizes heat and an advanced fluidized powdered catalyst to fracture long-chain, high-boiling hydrocarbon molecules derived from the vacuum distillation tower. This violent thermal cracking process isolates high-value, high-octane gasoline fractions and critical petrochemical building blocks such as propylene and butylene.
Severe Hydrodesulfurization
Ensuring rigorous compliance with Tier 3 vehicle emissions standards. Our catalytic hydrotreating units operate at extreme pressures to inject pure hydrogen gas into the hydrocarbon stream over a metallic catalyst. This forces a reaction with trapped sulfur compounds to form hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), which is safely extracted and converted into elemental sulfur for agricultural resale.

Advanced Completions & Lift
Our Permian Basin assets utilize localized 4D seismic telemetry to guide multi-lateral horizontal drilling. Completions are executed via custom proppant matrices that maximize fracture conductivity. Post-completion, AI-managed Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESPs) and gas lift systems dynamically adjust to changing reservoir pressures to ensure optimized recovery rates.
Petrochemicals Division
Integrated directly with our refining hubs, our steam cracking and aromatics units convert light naphtha and NGLs into high-demand chemical building blocks critical for modern manufacturing.

Deep Conversion Refining
To maximize yield from heavy, high-sulfur crude grades, our Gulf Coast facilities employ state-of-the-art bottom-of-the-barrel upgrading technologies.
Delayed Coking Unit (DCU)
Thermal cracking of vacuum residue at 900°F. Converts the heaviest fractions into lighter, high-value liquid products while producing petroleum coke for industrial aluminum and steel manufacturing.
Sulfuric Acid Alkylation
Reacts isobutane with low-molecular-weight olefins (propylene, butylene) in the presence of a strong sulfuric acid catalyst. Produces alkylate, a premium gasoline blending component.
Continuous Catalyst Reg. (CCR)
Catalytic reforming process that converts low-octane naphthas into high-octane reformate for premium gasoline blending. Features on-the-fly catalyst regeneration to ensure zero downtime.

Our onsite ISO 17025 certified laboratories operate 24/7/365. Permian Core Assets
Viceroy holds over 450,000 net acres across the Delaware and Midland basins. Our stacked-pay formations allow for simultaneous extraction from multiple geological horizons, specifically targeting the Wolfcamp and Bone Spring formations.
Predictive Turnarounds
Refinery turnarounds (TAR) are critical maintenance events that require shutting down major processing units. Viceroy has replaced legacy time-based scheduling with AI-driven Asset Performance Management (APM). By analyzing metallurgical fatigue and catalyst degradation in real-time, we have extended average TAR intervals from 4 years to 6 years, saving over $85M annually in deferred downtime.
